About:
Purpose Statement
Melissa has lived since 1993 on the forced relocation lands of the Southern Cheyenne and Arapaho people in Western Oklahoma. A ceremonialist, mother, grandmother, healer, Spirit channel, and activist, she joined the Yes World community in 2019 through Re-storying Justice and was later recognized for her work to end police violence. She and her family are featured in the award-winning documentary Savage Land, which tells of the historical and ongoing genocide against America’s First Peoples and her family’s resilience. Now in her elder years, Melissa shares ancient wisdom and Sacred Life Ways to awaken the Soul’s purpose, teaching with organizations such as Youth Passageways, Mindful Sead, and the California Institute of Integral Studies. In October 2025, she will launch Weaving Our World, a 13 Moons mentorship on living the Way of Right Relationship with all of life. She also envisions a healing oasis on her land with expanded ceremonial space, sustainable water, and housing for those seeking connection, nature, and care. “As members of humanity, we are here to remember our true essence, to share, and to guide a world being reborn.”
