Purpose Statement
The purpose of Morning Star Conservancy is to ensure the future of peyote through conservation, education, and respectful stewardship. We support Native American Church chapters and ceremonial practitioners by promoting sustainable harvesting practices, habitat restoration, and ethical cultivation efforts. We are committed to raising awareness about the ecological crisis facing peyote and building bridges of understanding that honor Indigenous traditions, sacred relationships, and the wisdom of elders. Our work is grounded in a shared prayer to stay behind the medicine — protecting not only its physical survival but also the spiritual lifeways it nourishes.
Morning Star Conservancy exists to protect, preserve, and sustain the sacred peyote plant (Lophophora williamsii) and its native habitat for present and future generations. Rooted in prayerful service, we are guided by respect for the medicine's spiritual significance, ecological importance, and inherent right to thrive on this earth. We uphold the collective responsibility to care for peyote beyond individual or organizational ownership, fostering collaboration across communities, traditions, and backgrounds for the wellbeing of the medicine.
