Kwapa Village Network

About:

Purpose Statement
The purpose of Kwapa Village Network is to serve as a cultural, educational, and community-based network dedicated to uplifting the Cocopah people through programs, partnerships, and initiatives rooted in our values of generosity, self-determination, and connection to the land. We aim to sustain our heritage, promote wellness, preserve our language and traditions, and create pathways for the social, economic, and spiritual development of all Cocopah people — on and beyond our reservations. Through honoring our past and embracing our future, Kwapa Village Network is committed to strengthening community ties, protecting sacred knowledge, and ensuring that the stories, resilience, and wisdom of the Cocopah people continue to thrive.

Kwapa Village Network, also known as the Cocopah Indian Tribe of Arizona, exists to preserve, protect, and strengthen the cultural identity, sovereignty, and well-being of the Cocopah people. Guided by the spirit of our ancestors — the River People — we honor our history, land, and traditions while fostering sustainable growth, intergenerational learning, and community resilience for future generations.
